Question on usefulness of older radar detectors…?
I recently stumbled across, in my garage, an older model Whistler detector, a Model 1540. I don’t need the "cutting edge" technology in radar detection equipment, yet I wonder if this unit still provide a modicum of protection…I know the 1540, e.g., has X, K, Ka and laser/VG2 capability but I know it’s close to 10 yrs old. Should I feel comfortable using this older detector? Thnx
I wouldn’t really trust it too much, being 10 years old and stored away for a long time.
It might work, it might not. The only way to find out it doesn’t work is going to be expensive enough to have bought a new one.
