I love to drive, and I love to drive fast.
I currently have a Whistler XTR 220 that was given to me by someone I dated. After only recently putting it back up in my car I realized that it was missing the remote control that originally came with it. It still works but it’s hard to reach on my window. So I have been considering looking at other ones. I did some looking online and apparently the brands such as Whistler, Cobra, etc. are really no comparison to the detectors made by brands such as Escort, Valentine, & Beltronics. After reading recommendations about the Escort Passport 8500 X50 I looked at it and was curious:
Does anyone actually own this radar detector?
What about the Valentine V1 or the Beltronics RX-65 Pro. If so, what can you tell me concerning the pros and cons of them? Were they worth the money?

Serious answers only, please. And do not waste my time about how I need to slow down.

I got three summons, one for speeding 117/55, one for reckless driving and one for riding my motorcycle with only a permit. I showed up at court on the date and the judge said she was entering not guilty pleas and also suspending my license until at least the next court date which she did and took my license. I was going to plead guilty for only having a permit but don’t believe I was guilty for the other two I don’t think I was going that fast but he said he had me on radar. Now I have to go back in a few weeks for what I guess is the trial, and don’t know what to do. I don’t have any money for a lawyer. I’d like to go in there knowing whats going to happen and what kind of punishment I’ll probably get

Okay well i’m looking into getting a police radar detector, I want to spend under a hundred bucks, I know a lot of people say that radar detectors do no work if they are cheap and I know the best kind is valantin but I do not have the money to buy that and I know some people say all radar detectors work the same just cost different prices. I found a whistler and a cobra at radio shack I was looking at, I have been getting mixed reviews on them, I live in a suburb north of chicago and my friends escort passport goes off a lot around stores and he spent 140 on his used from a friend.

SO what is the best radar detector for under a hundred dollars?? And is whistler or cobra any good??

It doesn’t warn me of cruisers or motorcycle cops EVER.. why is this? I heard it’s because either the Cops use Doppler or they use lasers with a trigger they push when they suspect a speeder. Wouldn’t this mean the whole radar/laser-detector industry is OBSOLETE? And people who spend up to 0 on Escort 9500’s, Valentine One’s, and Bel STI Driver’s are WASTING THEIR MONEY?? How can this be?

i would like to spend no more than 0 on a radar detector. but witch one is the best for the money.

I know i have herd that the Valentine One is top of the line but is it worth 0 even though i really don’t want to spend that much is it worth it.

I want to buy one that is relatively inexpensive but still works and does the job well. I have looked into it and I have seen various cobra detectors at a good price but then again I get good reviews and bad reviews. Please help me out so I know what im buying and if it is a good product. oh and I dont wanna be spending a shit load of money so the valentine is out. ha.

I looking for the best radar detector for under 400 dollars. Anything besides the Valentine 1. I have looked at the Escort Passport 8500. If you have it or something let me know about it. Also if you have any sort of one tell me if they actualy work or if they are a waste of my money.

A. realizing you have no money after you ordered your nachos bell grande in the drive thru

B. waking up and realizing you are 2 hours late for work

C. driving 85 mph down the street then seeing a motorcycle cop with a radar gun pointed at you

D. an atheist dying and realizing that God is real and they have to face judgment

I’ve been looking at them for my Grand Prix and I want to know if it’s actually worth the money.It seems to me like if a cop gets an error message he would pull you over anyway.

I was looking to get my husband a radar detector for his b-day. Autozone has one for .00, does anyone know if it’s worth spending the money on, since the price tag on other radar detectors is more in the 0.00-400.00 range? It’s called a whistler/radar detector. How well does it work? What’s the difference between the whistler and the voice? Thanks for any help.
