Should I fight a ticket?
This is what happened…
I was riding home from school with a friend when a motorcycle cop passed me
thinking nothing of it I kept going with cars still behind me
as the cars took a left turn
I entered a 45 mph zone
I was going 53 max
but the cop apparently was driven off the road and pulled around caught up to me then pulled me over and asked me to roll down the windows
the first question he asked was if I was deaf and when I said no he said why didn’t you see me following you all this time ( which I really didn’t see)
and then he said that I almost ran him over when I passed him and almost hit him head on because I almost changed lanes
and that he clocked me at 56 mph at a 35 mph zone
I don’t remember even doing that and I was going 53 in the 45 zone
and that he clocked me with a radar when there were two cars behind me
I plead not guilty so I need to know how to fight these?

what should I expect from these tickets?
I’m 17 and i have my car and motorcycle permits. I was riding with my friend (also on a permit) on our bikes and we were going 60 in a 55 and i passed him just as a sheriff got me on radar at 79 mph, i don’t believe i was going that fast but that’s what the ticket reads. i got one ticket for being an unlicensed operator and another for 79 in a 55 while my friend got one for unlicensed operator. i want to know what should i expect for fines and what will happen with my permits, and also will it affect me getting my drivers license?
For speeding ticket..Discovery Request. Can I request the officer's citation records?
the cop was writing another person a ticket and his motorcycle was behind the car.. i was coming down hill on a curved road and he said he caught me on radar. He wasn’t even situated on his bike when i passed him. he was standing behind the other car infront of his motorcycle. He then said he caught me on radar and that i didn’t evn sound like i was going speed limit.
So i wanted to get his citation record to show that he was pulling someone else over at the time. Can i get that in discovery? if so How can i word it in the discovery request?
I.E.- A copy of the officer’s citation record on the date of ##/##/##?
Will that work? ^
What is the biggest disaprity between speed limit and clocked speed ever for a speeding ticket?
That you ever heard of…like 150 in 55 would be a 95mph difference, etc.
The reason I ask is that once (years ago) in H.S. I got clocked on my ported and chambered Kawasaki H2-750 doing 141 in a 45 (Don’t worry it was a deserted country road frequented by racers with no intersections so I wasn’t putting anyone in danger…except myself of course..lol) while racing another motorcycle…the other guy turned off a side road after we were done racing and i continued straight and ran into the cops who had by then (seeing 141mph and 125mph on their radar and hearing my H2 screaming) had setup a road block…I thought I was going to get a huge ticket but after much discussions among themselves and bringing in what I took was a shift commander they decided since one the bikes they were clocking got away they couldn’t prove which one I was…I figured they’d just give me the 125 mph ticket but they decided they couldn’t for some reason…so after a stern talking to I went on my way…141mph in a 45 clocked on radar and I walked (well rode)…lol
Anyone who knows anything about motorcycles!! HELP:D?

I got a ticket which I believe I don't deserve how do i get out of it?
Okay I was coming back from school when supposedly a motorcycle cop saw me running a red light. Where going to call the place where he said he saw me run the red light spot A and where he stopped me spot B. The distance from spot A to B is 3 miles. By the time he stopped me he passed me once before he turn back to get me. When he stopped me he asked me how fast i was going threw the intersection he saw me run the red light (spot A) i answered 50mph (which is the speed limit) on the ticket he approx 65mph which is complete bulls*** i asked him to show me the radar and he said it was a visual approx. Is there anyway to fight this ticket or do you think its a complete waste of time to do so? Or which is the best way to fight it? Should I get a lawyer?
traffic tickets- what should I do?
I got three summons, one for speeding 117/55, one for reckless driving and one for riding my motorcycle with only a permit. I showed up at court on the date and the judge said she was entering not guilty pleas and also suspending my license until at least the next court date which she did and took my license. I was going to plead guilty for only having a permit but don’t believe I was guilty for the other two I don’t think I was going that fast but he said he had me on radar. Now I have to go back in a few weeks for what I guess is the trial, and don’t know what to do. I don’t have any money for a lawyer. I’d like to go in there knowing whats going to happen and what kind of punishment I’ll probably get
WA State Speed-trap Laws- Must Officers be Parked in the Line of Site of the Offender?
I am wondering if in Washington State, when officers are lying in wait to radar motorists for speeding, if they must be in the line of sight of the driver, or if they can be hidden. I was issued a speeding ticket by a motorcycle officer, who was hidden behind trees off to the side of the road. I have been searching and searching and searching online and I cannot find out whether or not this is legal, and even worth using as a legitimate reason to fight my ticket. (5 ouch!) Please keep in mind that this takes place in Washington State, and it would be very helpful if you could give me a link to the information.
Can a police officer give you a ticket the day after a stop?
I was pulled over by a motorcycle cop and he claims I was going 100 MPH which I was not. I was speeding but only going about 85. I passed him on a bike and then he pulled me over. He then said he didn’t have anything to write the ticket with and he gave me his card and told me to call him tomorrow and he would issue me my ticket. Is this legal? He never said he clocked me on radar or laser, and if I was really going that fast why wouldn’t he call a car and arrest me? He threatened to issue a warrant for my arrest if I don’t call him. What should I do?
But if I don’t call him can he issue a warrant for my arrest?
Contest a speeding ticket?
I need help. I was pulled over by an officer on a motorcycle. That time i was making a left turn and i was shifting from gear 2 to gear 3 on my prelude. from gear 2 the rpm was in 4500-5000. i saw a police officer on my right side maybe 50 ft ahead. he was going to make a right turn. so once i got up to 4500-5000, the cop seen me. i shifted gear, and next thing i know blue and red lights begin to flash. OK here is the info. i was doing around 53 MPH!!! he put 60+ on my ticket. and he made me sign it. he didnt ask me to sign it. he informed me that i have to sign. So i did, and i went on. The area i was doing 53 in, was a 45mph area. HE DIDNT HAVE A RADAR. He asked me my approximate speed, i told him around 45-50. He told me Bull Shit and gave me a ticket. He told me if i told him the truth, i would get away with it. I have the court in January 2009. I am hoping for some advices please! What is the best way to contest my speeding ticket in the court?
Police pulling over vehicles?
A couple of motorcycle cops sit at a Lowe’s parking entrance and run radar down a long stretch of service road that dumps into town (city limits)
Then, the cops step out in front of the speeder and tell them to pull over!
I did not get pulled over but was amazed the police would literally take that chance to step out into traffic.
So, if the cop turns into a speed bump, who is at fault?
Is it true that it is only legal for a cop to ticket you after the second speed limit sign? Can I win this?
We live in Boston, MA, and this is the statement I have given my lawyer.
My brother Niko, in his Ford Mustang, and I, in my own vehicle (2007 Crossfire) with my little brother, were driving back from our church basketball league game. It was around 4:35pm on a Sunday and cloudy. I was coming over the hill and saw a police cruiser and police motorcycle parked on the side of the bridge, well out of any radar’s field of view in any direction, that I was coming over, so I put my blinker on, checked my mirror, shoulder-checked, and changed lanes, to give the officers room. I was under the impression that the speed limit was 35 mph, knowing that the opposite side of traffic on the same stretch of Jamaica Plain Way was 35 mph, and seeing a sign further back which stated 35mph as the limit, which is the speed I was travelling. At the most, I could have been going five miles above the speed limit, but that is not likely.
Coming over the top of the hill and continuing down, I saw two State Troopers speaking with a driver of another vehicle parked on the side of the road. One was wearing a bright yellow coat, while the other was in his dark blue uniform. Neither officers had anything in their hands. Both the cruiser and motorcycle were parked on the side of the bridge, where I previously saw them.
The officer in the yellow jacket calmly turned around and proceeded into the closest lane, which my brother was travelling in. He then waved him over to the side of the road, walking into his lane. At the same time, I observed the second uniformed officer strolling through the first lane, and into the lane in which I was travelling. I had to apply my brakes a little harder than usual to avoid striking the officer, since he had strolled into my lane of travel. He waved me over, with me being quite confused and scared, this being the first time I have been pulled over, and having no idea what merited the stop.
One officer approached my brother (the one with the yellow jacket) and stood at his fender on the driver side, while the “blue” officer approached him and asked him for license and registration. After questioning my brother, the officer walks up to me, I roll down my window, and put both hands on my steering wheel, and he asks me for my license and registration. I politely tell him that my license is not on my body, and give him my temporary license, my registration, my full name, and my social security. At some point, I had mentioned that my wallet was in my jeans, along with my license, behind the divider in the trunk area. I just left a basketball game and was wearing my yellow shorts and a simple brown T-shirt, with a black jacket on the outside. The officer asks me how fast I was going, and I responded “The speed limit, but no more than five miles over.” The officer informs me that the limit is not 35, but 25. The officer then proceeds to inquire about the origins of the car, and asks me “Whose car is this?” I tell the officer that it is my car. He then states “that’s not what it says here.” By this point, I was becoming increasingly scared and was very intimidated, but I told the officer “The car is in my father’s name for the cheaper insurance, and the car was a gift to me for high school.” When I had told the officer this, his already stern and gruff attitude had changed to hostile, and he became very belligerent as he further inquired about my vehicle. He asked me in a severe tone if my “daddy” bought me “this nice car,” that “daddy” was probably paying for the insurance, too. He then stated that the car I was driving was too nice for a “kid” my age. During this outburst, I was coming to feel very frightened while I was pulled over, realizing that whatever situation I was in, it had taken a turn for the worse.
While the officer had been questioning my brother (he was pulled over behind me), I had observed more of the same aggressive gestures and body language that was directed towards me. I then saw the “yellow” officer retrieve a radar gun or laser radar gun from his cruiser, and the other officer wave another dark colored car to the side of the road with a malfunctioning taillight, who he spoke to, went to this cruiser to verify information, and promptly let him go. My brother and I were waiting for some time while the officers were pulling other motorists over, letting some of them go ticket-free. Finally, the officer returns to me, reads my citations, and hands me my ticket. I said “Thank you, Officer,” started my car, put on my blinker, checked my mirror, shoulder checked, and merged with traffic.
To reiterate some points, I was going what I thought was the speed limit (which I had wrongfully believed was 35mph), but I was not, in any way, endangering the public, the officers present, myself, or my little brother in the passenger seat. If I was not, the most it could have possibly been was five miles above the limit. The surrounding traffic was doing well in excess of the 25 mph limit, as we
Now, the problem I have is that I was not travelling at 61 mph, nor was I street racing. I was passing my brother at about 40 to 42 mph. Yes, I have admitted to speeding, but I did not do so in such a manner as to endanger the general public, myself, my brothers, or the officers.
So why should I plead guilty to a street racing charge? He never mentioned street racing to me, nor was it stated on my citation. He did, however, write down the provision for street racing on the ticket, but again not informing me.
Can you make your own plea to the DA?
Charged with speeding wreckless driving and felony eluding never been to jail did not elude because i pulled over I have a lawyer but wonder could i accept the wreckless and speeding if they drop the felony and he also did not have a radar or read me my rights i went to jail but was never placed under arrest and they want give my motorcycle back
More Calculus. Can you figure it out?
A police car, approaching a right-angled intersection from the north, is chasing a speeding motorcycle that has turned a corner and is now moving straight east. When the police car is 0.6 miles north of the intersection and the motorcycle is 0.8 miles east, the police determine with radar that the distance between them and the motorcycle is increasing at 20 mph. If the police car is moving at 60 mph at the instant of measurement, then what is the speed of the motorcycle?
