Okay well i’m looking into getting a police radar detector, I want to spend under a hundred bucks, I know a lot of people say that radar detectors do no work if they are cheap and I know the best kind is valantin but I do not have the money to buy that and I know some people say all radar detectors work the same just cost different prices. I found a whistler and a cobra at radio shack I was looking at, I have been getting mixed reviews on them, I live in a suburb north of chicago and my friends escort passport goes off a lot around stores and he spent 140 on his used from a friend.

SO what is the best radar detector for under a hundred dollars?? And is whistler or cobra any good??

Since I was a kid in the 60’s we have lost the right to choose a seatbelt, the right to sit in the back of a pickup or put my dog there, the right to choose a carseat or not, the right to smoke in a car, in a park or in my apt. Or a bar, I lost the right to choose a helmet on a motorcycle, bicycle, skateboard or skates, I cannot hire the best man for the job unless he is a certain color, I cannot talk on a cellphone in a car or use radar detectors and riding in the trunk is illegal? Remember drive ins?
What other rights we have lost that our Parents and Grandparents took for granted?

I know a lot of brands that are radar detectors. Cobra, beltronics, whistler, and many others. I know what exact models are the top rated and best out there for detections, but I just want to know what brand I can trust. I want to buy one, and I’m thinking about beltronics or whistler, but bel is so expensive, and whistler has many many models that are anywhere between aweful and very great. Are the lower models of whistler good enough? I know you get what you pay for, but I just want to be safe on the road knowing my surroundings.

I am looking at 2 different radar detectors, both priced equally. One is the Whistler XTR-190, the other a Cobra XRS 9330. I have been told that the Whistler has POP coverage where the Cobra doesn’t.. but I don’t know which one actually preforms better or if the POP even matters.

I’m looking at radar detectors, and I’ve come to a decision. But before I actually buy it, I want other people’s opinions. I’m considering buying the Valentine One radar detector. Any opinions?

Are there any radar detectors that also include a laser jammer? I know most cops are starting to use laser instead of radar. It would be pointless for me to get a radar detector if I don’t get a laser jammer as well. But how does it work?…..Do you need to get both installed? And does anyone have any experience with theses? I want something that will keep the cops from getting my speed at least till I have time to slow down.

Autozone has one for .00, does anyone know if it’s worth spending the money on, since the price tag on other radar detectors is more in the 0.00-400.00 range? It’s called a whistler/radar detector.
