In California can a policeman hide off his vehicle behind another vehicle with a radar gun and ticket people?

i was driving home from school going 33 in a 25 residential area. on ticket it says 43, but its wrong. anyways. i was driving down a hill at a speed of 33. and i drove down to the bottom to take a right. just then i saw a cop walk out from behind a pickup truck with a radar gun and he came up to me and showed me i was going 43. which is bull sh&*. then i looked down the street and saw two cop motorcycle bikes. I was not the only person he got. It was ridiculous. I’m pretty sure you can’t hide behind a pickup. Imagine if you were going 33 and a cop jumped out of a bush. with a radar gun and wrote you a ticket. Any clarification would help. I’m thinking about contesting this ticket, and if you find clarification please show me where it came from.
ok listen. first off

1.none of you people have shown your sources
2. hammer your an idiot i was going 33, do you understand radar guns, when you go downhill they dont take in the angle, so it appears your going faster
3. some of you idiots just post something to get points without actually looking for the correct information, so good job those of you who take yahoo answers seriously!
4. the least imformative answer helped more then the rest

New radar defense plausible?

I was just surfing the web browsing laser jammers and fantasising about building a radar jammer, and a thought occurred…

Since there are only three ranges of frequencies assigned for using speed and range finding electronics, wouldnt it be safe to assume that the speed and range finding equipment often found in late model luxury cars, since it COULD operate coincidentally on the exact same frequency offer the POSSIBILITY of interfereing and ACCIDENTALLY jamming a police radar gun as he measures your speed. Obviously In all likelyhood this wouldnt happen, but in theory it sounds that it is not impossible.

How woudl this play out as a defense to a radar speed trap claiming that your car has built in radar transceiver operating at an unknown frequency to you, (and the courtroom) and that it is possibel that they gave a false reading to the radar gun. Is this a plausable sound defense? has this ever been attempted before? Am i a genious or what? Could simply drivign a volvo wagon equipped with collision avoidance sensors be your way out of every speed trap ever?
to successfully overpower and "JAM" a radar unit the jamming transceiver need only half of the actual radar guns output, and even then less in actuaity because the strength of the echo is somewhat proportianl to the size of the target in its feild which is a tiny fraction of it. I still say it plasuible that those tiny transmitters have the minimum neccessary output to, under the right circumstances cause a possible misinterpretation of received signals to a radar gun.

Do Orange County motorcycle-cops have bult-in radard guns on their bikes?

OK, I was pulled over at 8:00 AM a couple of weeks ago by a motorcycle cop and got a ticket for speeding on Moulton Pkwy in Aliso Viejo, CA.

I see there is always 2 motorcycle cops parked with their radar guns pointing at the traffic coming from the opposite direction I drive to, so I am careful and never had a problem in the 2 yrs I’ve lived there, until the day I got pulled over.

I was driving on Moulton Pkwy towards La Paz and I see 2 motorcycle cops driving their bikes, but they were not behind me, they were coming from the opposite side of the road. Also, it was not like they were parked and waiting for someone to be pulled over, they were not even holding their radar guns at me, they just doing that, driving their bikes on the opposite side (which is separatedby a boulevard).

I was totally shocked when I saw one of the motorcycle cops make a U turn to turn around to come after me to pull me over for SPEEDING?? The cop seemed to be in a very good mood, he was just laughing the whole time… I even had to ask him "officer, could you please tell me what I did wrong?" Of corse, his answer was "you were speeding"…he gave me the ticket and left.

When I read the ticket, I see he wrote down the radar’s Serial Number, WTF?? He was not pointing a freaking radar gun at me! Do their bikes have built-in radar guns?? What are my chances of winning in court?

A couple of questions about radar detectors and laser jammers.?

How do Radar Guns work that they alert the Radar Detector ahead of time giving you a chance to slow down?

Is there any way you can get away with having a laser jammer in your car in a state it’s illegal in or will the police officer immediately know what’s going on the second his laser gives him Null results?

If I get a laser jammer, do I also need a radar detector?

If the jammer scrambles the radar guns, do I also need a radar detector?
